q) Who should use worldcloud.com Dedicated Servers?
a) worldcloud.com Dedicated Servers are offered to experienced server administrators and developers - howver, no one is excluded as we have a large number of consltants availbale to assist less experienced server admins.
q) What support is availbale once I receive my server access?
a) Dedicated server support at worldcloud.com is provided for certain aspects of your service only. That being said, we are always available to assist and find that after a few pointers in the right direction, new members are able to build their applications right away and enjoy the control they have with worldcloud.com dedicated platforms..
worldcloud.com Dedicated Server support is provided for network status, server health and reboot service. All aspects of the server configuration once released to you are your responsibility, worldcloud.com does not directly provide application support.
q) I would like application support for my Dedicated Server - what are my options?
a) worldcloud.com maintains a large roster of experienced developers who are familiar with worldcloud.com systems and are available to you on referral - once we put you in touch with the right technical partner, you would contract with them separately from your worldcloud.com service.
q) What are the minimum terns of service? Am I locked into a long contract?
a) worldcloud.com servers are offered in self-renewing 30-day periods until cancelled, terms are Credit Card Payment on your monthly anniversary date, per server instance.
Specific to FileMaker Server
q) I ordered a Dedicated FileMaker Server Advanced - what access to I get?
a) You have access to the server mountpoints via ftp for the databases folder, backups folder and root web folder. You use the web control panel we supplied to open/close your FileMaker databases that you have uploaded and have root access to the server web folder for custom web content. Your databases are automatically backed up to the backups directory each hour and you may download them at anytime. These are also transferred several times daily to your worldcloud.com offsite backup directory for alternate retreival. Use the open remote command in your FIleMaker client or view your iwp / custom web content via your web browser.
q) I would like to access the server operating system to install plug-ins and configure the server myself - is this possible with the service?
a) Admin access to the FileMaker Server is available to experienced server admins and developers by request - you will need to agree to additional terms and conditions in order to receive full admin privileges.
